A woman has been busted in the slaying of her boyfriend’s elderly father in their shared Inwood apartment this week, according to police.
Cassandra Carter, 27, was arrested in connection to the death of Jerry Fox, 71, who was found around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday with apparent stab wounds inside the second-floor apartment on Seaman Avenue near West 207th Street in Inwood, cops said.
Authorities found Carter fleeing down a fire escape as they responded, according to police sources.
The case was classified a homicide but the motive for the slaying was unclear, cops said.
Carter was dating Fox’s adopted son, according to police.
Neighbors told the Post Wednesday that the relationship between the trio was contentious.
“We all live in the buildings. We hear things. We see the police cars,” said resident Sherry, 73.
She added that “the police have been called to his apartment” in the past.
“I have heard they have had domestic scuffles,” she said.
