A brute sucker-punched a 61-year-old man — knocking him unconscious — in an unprovoked attack on a busy Bronx street this week, new video shows.
The victim was walking on East Burnside Avenue near Jerome Avenue in University Heights around 11:45 a.m. Monday when a man — who was already down the block — turned around, walked toward him and socked him in the face, according to the video released by police late Thursday.
The blow knocked the victim to the ground and left him unconscious.
Several pedestrians were nearby at the time of the assault — and at least two are shown walking away and doing nothing.
The victim was taken in stable condition to St. Barnabas Hospital, with a cut on his lip and pain and swelling to his head.
The suspect took off on an eastbound Bx40 bus, cops said. He was still on the loose Friday.
